Green Roofing

Whether you look out your window onto a drab concrete block and want to see some life, or you want to help increase the biodiversity for your garden, or you simply want to improve the lifespan of your flat roof, a green roof is a great way to do just that.

Green roofs can mean a number of things, from a real garden with fruits, vegetables and a lawn, to simply a sedum turf. They all have the same basic layers: a waterproof layer you can trust, a protection layer for that waterproofing, a water retention layer to aid the plants in dry periods, the growing medium and then the plants themselves.

At Montgomery Roofing, as accredited installers of single ply we recommend this as the starting block for any green roof. The addition of a green roof does not effect a guarantee, in fact the addition of a green roof is seen as a real benefit. Use of pre grown sedum turf means a swift installation, and an instant softening of the building, really blending it into the environment.
